sleep rocking

Husband rock violently when asleep. Shakes the whole bed. At time slames into me, always wakes me up. Sometimes last an hour but mostly off and on all night. Also makes a strange moaning sound. Stops at times when I put my hand on his arm but just when I start to fall asleep he starts up again. I have found out that 2 of his nephews also rock in their sleep. What causes this and is there a cure to stop this? Please help..
