Falling out of bed

I've fallen out of bed last night,and last week once. Before that about six months ago I fell out of bed about
six or seven times within six weeks. I'm adult over 50 not a child. Last week was the first time I hit my head on the night stand and had a good size egg on the back of my head.
Any suggestions why ?
