It's called "Jactatio Capitis Nocturna" - but most folks call it "rocking"! :-) Slide on down the list a few messages and you'll see just the other day I was speaking of this rocking - I too suffer from it - wait - strike that - I make OTHER people suffer from it as you'll see in my Post.

You'll find when he's tired or stressed the rocking is heavy - you'll also find that your technique of putting your hand on his arm to stop him is oh-so temporary! :-)

You didn't mention how long he's been doing this? Since childhood? Recently?
