What you describe sounds like RBD (REM Sleep Behavior Disorder). I was diagnosed w/ it a couple of years ago w/ similar symptoms to the ones you describe. It's only been known about since the mid-'80s or so, and there doesn't seem to have been a lot of treatment tried to date. Went to see a shrink, he prescribed desipramine (a tricyclic antidepressant). After a lot of experimentation w/ dosage ('cuz there ain't a lot of documented cases), we ended up at 150 mg at bedtime. Seems to have worked, to some extent... but not completely. Going for a sleep study soon, hope that'll tell them more. Meanwhile, good luck.
