Long Term Broken Sleep

Hi,
As a parent to two small boys (3 & 4yrs) I must be talking about something every parent goes through at some point, i.e. continuous nights of broken sleep. My wife and I expected the usual initial period of sleepless nights when the children where babies, and indeed, didn't really have any major problems with that. However, what I am concerned about now is that for the last year or more (I find it hard to recollect the length of time), we have never really had continuous (day after day) full uninterupted sleep. This is due to the children waking up every night at various times, usually in the small hours. They always require putting back to bed which obviously means one of us has to get out of bed. This can happen more than once per night. What I would like to know is, Are there any permanent effects from this?. I frequently feel like I need more sleep, and as of late I am finding it difficult to concentrate during the day, my mind starts to wander and ocassionally I suffer an anxiety attack. I am a well balanced person mentally (with an IQ of 133) or have been up til now, I'm putting it all down to this broken sleep thing, Should I be concerned ? or will it get better as the kids grow out of this waking up in the night situation.
