Dear CM,
I think you may force me to change my name for clarity's sake! LOL! I am certainly no expert on Sleep Apnea, though I have read quite extensively.
I was trusting my own experiences: I have more trouble with breathing when I am laying down and my head is elevated too much. I breathe better with an elevation that is comparable to the natural pitch of my neck to my back, when standing. When I switched to a "memory foam" mattress from a fairly firm innerspring, I began to sink and shape into the mattress more than previously. I began to snore more almost immediately and my breathing was more labored. Buying a thinner pillow solved the problem.
LOL! Such are the problems of anecdotes: They really only apply reliably to the person telling the story! LOL!
I look forward to more good info that will refine my education!
