sleep terror?

Posted by squirrel on January 20, 2001 at 09:21:58:

Can someone please tell me what is happening to my 5 year old daughter. Two years ago, I went to wake her up and her eyes were open, but she was completely lifeless otherwise, dead weight, she said some strange things and then urinated and began to vomit. I took her to the emergency room, thinking it was a seizure. We ran every test possible and everything turned out to be normal, but no one could tell me what had happened.
This morning her father awoke to a similar experience. She was just laying there, eyes open, mumbling, unresponsive, but she didn't urinate or vomit. He took her to the emergency room, and they suggested night terror.
My question is can night terror take this form- without the thrashing around or screaming? And, can it occur in the morning?- the two times that it's happened (that we know of) has been in the morning when we go to wake her up.
I am very concerned about what is going on with her, and what is causing this, and most importantly what I can do about it. Any feedback whould be grately appreciated.
