Long Time to Wake Up

Posted by TerriS on January 22, 2001 at 09:50:31:

I am having trouble becoming fully awake. I have been thru a sleep clinic and they tell me I do not have Sleep Apnea enough to cause my problem. I sleep soundly most of the night waking up only once or twice to go to the bathroom and then right back to sleep. But it seems to take me 2 or 3 hours to become fully awake. Once I am awake I am fine. It's just getting there that's a problem.

I have tried adjusting my sleep times to a regular schedule. Cutting out caffeine. Stopped taking all pills, including prescription and over the counter drugs. Does anyone know of a waking up disorder? I don't believe my problem is not getting enough sleep I just don't seem to be able to wake up very easily. I have now had this problem over a year and would like to get some help.

Thank you
