Numbness of hands and arms during sleep.

Posted by oniramcire on April 06, 2001 at 18:02:24:

I have had this problem of numbness of hands and arms during sleep. I wake up and can't feel my hand(s) and it's quite alarming, sometimes I feel like I'll never get the feeling back in my hands. It has been so severe for me at times that I actually have to rub my hand to get the circulation back. Occassioanlly it takes more than a minute and I get a dead hand or finger feeling. This isn't just a limb falling asleep and getting a tingling feeling. I don't beleive it's carpel tunnel, since I don't type or use a computer that often.
I'm quite worried about this condition and would appreciate any information or help. My fear is that I'm going to wake up one night and have no feeling in my hand for good.
