I suffer from sleep hyperhidrosis--EVERY night--and am looking for some guidance. TB test was negative, bloodwork came back normal for liver, thyroid, etc. I just saw my doctor, and he wrote a prescription for 10 mg. every night of Elavil (amitryptiline) for the anticholinergic effects that would supposedly dry me out. I'm scared to use it, though, because of all the side effects that were listed--heatstroke, dizziness, fainting, weight gain, hair loss, etc. I think those might be worse than the night sweats. Has anyone had experience with Elavil for night sweats? I'd greatly appreciate any feedback (even just to let me know I'm not alone in my nightly journeys to get new pajamas once I've sweated through my first set).
