Get him to go in for a sleep study. Snoring is not normal. It can be an indication that there is an obstruction in his breathing. I suggest you look into the sleep apnea forum here.

Even if he does not realize he is snoring, if he has sleep apnea, he could be doing much damage to his body. All sorts of problems, including heart problems, diabetes, hypertension... can be caused or made worse by sleep apnea.
