Hi Catherine,
I can see how you'd find that unsettling! A year or so ago, my husband murmured "Laura, she's my only love" in his sleep. Laura is the name of an old girlfriend. ACK! I was upset at first. He had no memory of it at all. Hasn't seen the woman in years. My friends offered an alternate explanation of what I heard: he may have been talking to Laura about me in a dream. As in, "Laura, she (my wife) is my only love." In the end it didn't really matter, I trust him to tell me if something is bothering him.
Dreams aren't real, and you can't hold someone responsible for something he says while asleep. Instead, look at how he treats you when he's awake, you'll know by his real-life actions whether your relationship is strong or not.
Hope that helps.
