Falling asleep minutes after eating

Posted by goingnutsfast on August 22, 2001 at 19:47:19:

Hi,
Hopefully someone out there can help me before I go completely nuts. My husband falls asleep within minutes after eating without fail. This seems harmless enough but the problem is he snores very loudly, is extremely hard to wake up until he starts his nightly wake up episodes which is almost every hour on the hour without fail. He also smokes and tends to fall back asleep with a lit cigarette. I have become a light sleeper to keep him from burning down the house. I am at my wits end with this, his sometimes falling asleep before finishing his meal, his snoring and his refusal to believe he has a problem. Does anyone else have a similar type of problem or at least an idea of what might be wrong so I can convince him to seek help before I go off the deep end?

Thanks so much,
Goingnutsfast
