Shallow Breathing, Headache, Light Headedness

Wow. Richard has described my situation quite accurately. I did an internet search to find some answers and I ended up here, though still without any answers to the problem. I also experience tension headaches around my temples. Sometimes I feel I stop breathing for a few seconds. It's almost like I need to stop breathing to maintain my mental focus, esp when deep in thought. I would appreciate any answers anyone can provide me. My family doctor is at a loss to explain my symptoms.
