Awareness Sleeping Paralysis (ASP)

Posted by Jane Doe on January 09, 2002 at 13:40:56:

I am 53 years old and have experienced ASP since I was around 18. The condition has got progressively worse. In the beginning I quite enjoyed the sensation of flying and walking about the house but gradually this changed and I began to hear voices - always familiar voices but the fact that I knew there was noone there was very frightening. Later on again things changed. I no longer heard voices but felt someone coming into my room and maybe sitting on my bed. Also I felt strange shadowy substances crowding aground me. Just once I saw a large greyish man walk from my room - I looked at his back and then he turned around, at which point I managed to wake up. I can shout during these 'dreams'. I am always aware that I am in this state and have tried praying.I could go on forever relating my experiences but I am just hoping that someone will reply with perhaps some ideas on treatment/cure. Today I ordered some melatonin from the US. I read on one of the sites that although it is primarily used for jet lag it can help with ASP.
