Restless and active sleeping

Posted by Sharon on January 14, 2002 at 03:21:39:

Not sure where to begin. I know that I have always talked in my sleep and on occasion had nightmares. I know this because sometimes I wake myself up talking, laughing, crying or screaming. I have also been totally unaware of these things, but my partner has alerted me to the above actions. The nightmares come and go in terms of frequency. For a while they began to resemble night terrors. Recently, my partner has told me that I have started "twitching" in bed, i.e., intermittently moving various body parts, enough so to wake him up and keep him awake. I was unaware of these "twitchings," but noted that I would wake up feeling tired.

I seem to have a very active mind. I am prone to think about situations in depth. I have noticed that my dreams--the ones I remember--tend to resemble situations that I am experiencing or relate to people either directly or indirectly in my life. I feel as if I am not really sleeping/resting, but rather laying down and continuing to live my life in a different state.

Any suggestions.
