Large uvula attached to side of throat at tip!!

Posted by Lbsjl on June 05, 2002 at 20:35:30:

I just noticed that my 3-year-old son has a large uvula that appears to be connected by its tip to the side of his throat!?!?! Yes- the tip, meaning that most of it is not connected... it makes a circle, if you will. I had him cough and drink water several times... the uvula never disconnected. I've read several postings regarding uvula size on this site, but I can't figure out if this is a problem or not. Also, how early is sleep apnea diagnosed? Would he have it already if he was going to get it? Anyone seen the same situation before? Thanks!!
