suffocating whilst waking up

Posted by Peter J. Ridley on July 17, 2002 at 21:41:42:

Someone has probably mentioned this problem before but I dont want to scroll through all these posts. I sometimes have trouble waking up in the morning. I feel really catatonic. I stare off and my eyes are open but it is really hard to get out of sleep. My body becomes paralyzed and I have to concentrate really hard on remembering to breathe. I dont know what it is. I just want a name of it and possibly what I can do about it.
