hallucinations

Posted by dutchie on July 22, 2002 at 08:34:15:

Hi,
First of all, I'm Dutch, so if my Englisch is al little strange, I'm sorry.

I've read here about hypnogogic (or -pompic) hallucinations. I think I have those too. I see weird thinks like parts of the ceiling falling down and the debree in my bed or I think that a truck is parking on the floor above and that it will collapse. Sometimes I can reason myself out of it, but other times I just run out of bed or start screaming. I also sleepwalk a little (and than I'm also half awake).

It is not really sceary or anything, but I loose a lot of sleep (and I'm already a bit of an insomniac) and I wake up my boyfriend al the time.

Are there ways to get rid of it? I've heard that is is linked to apnea? But If you have apnea you usually snore isn't it? Or sufficate a little or almost during your sleep? I don't have that. So are their other causes I should think of?

Thanks.
