Hypnapompic Hallucinations

Posted by Jarvis Hobson on July 25, 2002 at 02:20:13:

Hi I am a 21 year old male and I have this sleeping problem I need answers about. First off it only happens when I am alone at night. Okay what happens is I fall asleep and after a certain amount of time I wake up to something or someone their. I swear it is the scariest thing in my life. I know I am awake when this happens. I have even talked to a young girl that appered once. I heard it being called Hypnapompic hallucinations but I have also heard it is nothing to worry about. But I beg to differ. I have already had two heart attacks from fright alone, and I am only 21. I have heard of cases where people have died because they got so scared they had a severe heart attack. I would like some info and anything that can help because I rarely get sleep now a days and it is really not good. Please help me out.
