My dear friend:

I too have had similar hallucinogenic dream experiences, from time to time, since childhood and I know how terrifying they can be. Some years ago I learned that they're called HYPNAGOGIC HALLUCINATIONS and sometimes occur together with SLEEP PARALYSIS. There's lots of information on this subject on Google.com under SLEEP DISORDERS...Just type in "hypnagogic hallucinations" and you'll learn that you're not alone. Good luck to you.
