I am of Dutch decent also, but I have not traced my lineage. Anyway, I have been having minor hallucinations since I was a child. Hallucinations for me include seeing things/people moving in the room. It seems I am half asleep and half awake. I can witnees what I am doing, but I cannot control it until the very end of the episode. Last night, I jumped out of bed, pulled all the covers off, and jumped up and down screaming that my kids were in the ceiling. My husband finally calmed me back to bed, but I layed down sobbing. The hallucinations seem so real that I am beginning to feel afraid to go to sleep because I dred them so much. The other night I picked up the phone to call the police because I could not get "the people" to leave. I do not have any other disorders, I am not taking any meds, and I don't eat before bed. I just want to know what causes them and if there is anything I can do about it. Anyone?
