To all you women out there having night sweats:

Posted by sweat-free-finally on August 02, 2002 at 20:36:11:

Hi. I'm a 34 yr. old female who HAD nightsweats for over 4 and a half years. They kept getting worse and worse, and I couldn't find a doctor who could find anything wrong. I had every test done imaginable, including my hormones. I came to this message board in search of an answer, back in December. I was amazed at how many women there are out there suffering just like I was, and did not have an answer or a solution. I also posted on other message boards (I was desperate for help!), and got contacted by a girl who told me about progesterone cream. I AM NOT A SALESPERSON, BY THE WAY. I had never heard of it before, and thought it was some far-fetched scam (like all those so-called diet pills that never work!). My gut instinct told me to check this stuff out, so I did. My gut instinct was right. There is a book written by John R. Lee, M.D. called "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause", and I think all women should read it. He says that women can start having premenopause symptoms as early as 20 years before you actually reach menopause. He tells about natural progesterone cream, and how it helps a lot of premenopause symptoms. I know this is a very long post, but I feel like I just got my life back and I want to tell the world. I just want to help other women out there who are suffering with night sweats. Dr. Lee pointed out that a lot of times when you get your hormones tested, the doctors don't test for progesterone. It all makes sense. There are tons of info on the internet about all of this. Ladies, check it out! I thought I was too young to be going through this, but I'm not. I've been using progesterone cream for 2 months now, and my night sweats are gone. I was sweating 3-4 times a night, and was soaking the bed each time. It was draining me of all my energy, not to mention what it was doing to my sanity! I just hope I've helped someone else. Night sweats may not be a sleep disorder, but it sure disrupts your sleep. And I almost forgot to mention this. Right after I found out about progesterone cream, Dr. Christiane Northrup was on Oprah talking about it. She has a book out called "The Wisdom of Menopause", and it is a lot like Dr. Lee's, but is longer. I've also been told that there is a book called "Screaming to be Heard" that is worth reading. I don't know who the author is on that one. Thank you, Sandman, for having this wonderful site. This site is helping a lot of people out there.
