We got our Tempurpedic in July. No problems from day one, thank goodness. We're very pleased. Our biggest concern was the possibilty of heat retention during the hot summer months. Turned out to be a non-issue.

I guess that's not much help, other than, no, we haven't experienced what you describe. Certainly if it's extremely hot or extremely cold the mattress will behave differently, but unless we're talking about leaving it out in the Death Valley summer, or the Point Barrow winter, I can't see a noticeable difference appearing.
