You are right--I am not big on meds.
Trazadone is an antidepressant and I'm not quite sure why or how it is supposed to help with sleepwalking. It made me feel like a zombie all the time and did nothing to help with the walking.
I have been taking ambien for over 3 years and am now trying to stop everything completely--thus back to insomnia. For me not sleeping is better than sleepwalking. I don't have a good attitude about it. It totally freaks me out that I do soooo many things that I don't remember and have no control over. (Control is a big thing for me--I am sure there is some correlation with the insomnia and walking).
I read an article this morning that briefly talked about a disorder called REM behavior disorder. I don't know anything about it, but from what I read, it sounds ALOT like what you experience.
