Check out Hypnogogic Hallucinations or Sleep Paralysis. These are primarily associated with Narcolepsy but can also be associated with severe sleep deprivation. I experience both and I do NOT have Narcolepsy but I have several other sleep disorders and have been severly sleep deprived for years.
