awake and still dreaming?

mhh.just found this forum and i hope someone can help me with my problem. usually i have these dreams that i am lying in my bed and someone is standing by the bedroom door. when i wake up i am horrified but.. of course..there is nobody there. couple of nights ago i actually woke up to see someone standing by my bedroom door. i panicked..jumped up and slammed the door shut and locked it quickly. i could not fall asleep afterwards. an hour later i finally got the nerve to open the door again and ..of course there was nobody there. is it possible i was still dreaming even though i was awake? is there are name for this?
