Posted by JD on September 28, 2002 at 15:01:59:Hi Everyone,
I recently had a sleep test because of my excessive daytime sleepiness (ie. 3-4 hour naps in the afternoon)...my REM sleep was only measured at 3.9%, which is dangerously low.
I don't have caffeine or any other toxin running through my system, and I don't have any major psychological problems that are interupting my sleep.
Because of my REM deprivation though, I have been having some visual disturbances and mild hallucinations, and I will often experience some depression and anxiety as a RESULT of poor REM sleep.
Besides good sleep hygene, etc., I am looking for any type of methods or devices that can stimulate REM sleep.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
JD
