sweating at night

I am a 36 year old female with a recent habit of waking with a sweaty chest, back and neck. I am noticing that this happens mainly in the days before and/or during my period, and when I am very hot. (When I am hot and not around my period, I don't sweat like this) I don't usually have to change anything. In fact, I wake up hours later totally dry, wondering if this was a dream.

Currently I am on antibiotics for a UTI (cipro) so I know that this most recent bout of sweating may be linked to this. I am going for routine blood work but now must wait till I am off the cipro.

Can anyone tell me the difference between night sweats and sweating at night, if there is one? I've also been having trouble with heart palpitations, so I wonder if these may be linked to one another, and linked to perimenopause Thanks.
