Confusing thoughts while still awake

Posted by PDT on September 30, 2002 at 10:22:50:

Quite intermittently over the last few months I've been having trouble sleeping. I'll try to go to sleep, but when my eyes are closed my mind will start focusing on some strange thoughts. When I open my eyes I am unable to remember much of this, but when I close my eyes it's often back there. I find I have to get up for 20 minutes or so before I can try again going to sleep. The thought is stuck there almost like when you get a song stuck in your head.

This usually happens in times of stress (It first cropped up during an exam period, and now I'm off to university I've had them a couple of times this week), although I won't necessarily consciously be feeling stressed when I go to sleep.

I'm beginning to get quite worried about this, and hope someome can shed some light on it..
