Posted by Erik on October 02, 2002 at 01:02:39:None of the sleep problems listed in the catalog of sleep disorders fit me.
I sleep like a log for 3- 4 hours, but awaken to terror nightmarres, such as, an alligator suddenly appears in the water and comes after me while I'm swimming.
I awaken. Eat a turkey and cheese sandwich. Wait 30 minutes. Feel myself begin to relax. Go back to sleep for another 3-4 hours.
I grind my teeth. And, clinch my hands during the day.
I developed these symptoms 30 years ago after a co-worker spit in my face and gave me a severe case of hepatitis/ mononeuclosis. I never did find out what he had.
To this day, I have a residual pain in my spleen area, grind my teeth during the day, am tense. At first I thought of hypoglycemia, somehow caused by the speen impinging upon the pancreas. But, I bought a blood sugar testing kit and am normal.
But, it seems like hypoglycemia because the sandwich and milk do make me relax and go back to sleep.
IF you can put a name upon my disorder, I would be most appreciative.
