Acting out your dreams

Posted by Fiddy on November 16, 2002 at 17:26:19:

I have attacked my wife three times, my 12 year old son once and my dog once all during sleep. I was on top of my wife with my hands around her throat before she screamed for me to get off. On the other two occasions I have pulled her hair and hit her, shouting obscenities as I act out these dreams. I also hit my 12 year old son who was sleeping with us one night, due to an illness and have woke with my hands around my dogs throat.

I currently use a CPAP for sleep apnoea and no longer sleep with my wife through fear of attacking her again. I have no recollection of these events until my wife wakes me to tell me what has happened.

Anyone else been through this?
