Dry eyes from BiPAP mask?

Posted by sadie on November 19, 2002 at 21:22:28:

This is difficult to explain. I've been sleeping with a std. mirage mask (BiPAP) for over 2 years and in the last two months, this problem has arisen. I awaken suddenly with a stabbing pain in my left eye. Only my left eye. It feels like I have a chard of glass in my eye. My eye waters llike crazy and within five minutes or so (who knows?) I fall asleep again. I thought my mask needed replacing and so I did that. It's still happening. I thought it was dried up sleep matter falling into my eye and that was doint it. Now I think the eye is getting dried out from the air flow. Whatever it is, it just started happening and it's bloody awful. Has anybody got a fix, an explanation, or anything at all to offer me?
