Sounds like extreme Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS). You may find some useful info and links at latesleepers.com. My mom and sister both recommended the not sleeping 24 hours method too. It just made me exhausted and miserable; I took a nap in the evening and was back to my usual hours! I was more successful at making myself get up at the same (early) time each morning; after a day or two, I was tired enough to want to go to bed earlier. Without serious motivation I am at a loss though.
