my son's headaches

Posted by bubbareb on January 13, 2003 at 16:57:11:

My 15 year old son suffers from chronic daily headaches. The medicines he is on give him a med hang-over in the morning, so he ends up getting up at noon or later. I can't wake him up...he just falls back onto the bed. This happens every morning! If he doesn't take the meds, he can't get up due to the head pain. Pain meds make him sleepy. He hasn't been able to attend school for over a year. He does see friends in the evening and he is in a Praise Band at church, so he does stay active in the evenings. He also has other chronic medical problems. He is getting very depressed. I have an appointment for him to see a psychiatrist next week to check his depression and the meds he is prescribed from the Head Pain Clinic doctor. This is my first time on a forum. I hope someone has something to offer or a better path to go down looking for answers. Thank you!
