Hello..I can relate to your situation...I was diagnosed w/idiopathic hypersomnia about a year ago...there are many sleep disorders and many people suffer from many different things. however, i have many of the same symptoms you have. i am ALWAYS tired, i have been since as long as i can remember..i am now 27...anyway, i was never one for drugs either, but i finally realized i would never be happy until i got my disorder under control....which i still haven't...still trying different drugs, but i do hope you may consider seeing a doctor because i don't think there's going to be much you can do on your own....my reason being is this: i dream all the time, constantly, i also wake up all night because i dream so much. i have no problems falling asleep, but i cannot stay asleep....i went through all the sleep studies and my doctor told me my brain is staying active all night. your dream stage is your deepest sleep (but also the most active on your body) it is normal to go through stages and reach your rem (dream stage) but most "normal" people will wake up momentarily and fall right back asleep. our bodies are so sleep deprived, that we go right into our dream stage and skip the other stages of sleep, and since the dream stage is the normal stage to wake up, we are always waking up cuz we are always dreaming. does that make any sense? it's a never-ending cycle. i guess i just wanted to share this info w/you because i was always under the impression that if you were dreaming than you had a good nights sleep, but now i've learned this is not true. the dream stage is your most active stage, so you're not getting much rest if your dreaming all night. hope this helps....
