Bruxism - and BruxCare device

Posted by BruxQ on January 16, 2003 at 18:33:35:

Hello,

I've been grinding my teeth in my sleep for the last 6 years or so--every night now. I've tried various things--biofeedback, jaw guard (which I wear nightly), been to various doctors/dentists. I now have this device called "GrindAlert" from BruxCare--a headband with muscle sensors that emits a beeping sound when I grind. The problem is, when I use it over time, I either get so sleep-deprived that I sleep right through the beeping, or I get used to the beeping sound and don't hear it. Has anybody used this device and have suggestions on how to make it useful? Or other good "advanced" ideas about treating/curing bruxism? (I say "advanced" because I know all the basic stuff about jaw guards and stuff!) Thanks for any help!

Paul
