The trouble with Xanax is that is washes very quickly out of your system and as soon as it washes out, you are in exactly the same state of mind and body that you were in before you took it...thus it causes itself to be addictive. I used Kava Kava alone for over a year and it helped for quite a while, but after I was DX with lupus, I needed something stronger so am on Klonopin, but now my muscles are degenerating much quicker than we expected and are wondering if it is a side effect of the Klonopin in combo with my blood pressure med. I'm thinking of going to old fashioned Elavil ( amitriptalene) It is cheap, anti-depressant and sleep aid.
