Trazadone as remedy for RLS

Posted by Dorothy on August 26, 1999 at 16:58:56:

When Michelle put fibromyalgia as a companion malady along with RLS back in May, I researched fibromyalgia, and realized that was the source of all my aches and pains. Reading all the postings, I realized also that no two sufferers are alike and many respond differently to different remedies. When the RLS and insomnia got so bad I was seldom sleeping more than 4 hours a night, and that in 1 and 2 hour increments, I finally went to my doctor. He confirmed the fibromyalgia, and prescribed Trazadone, an Antidepressant. Since I'm not depressed, I only took it to show him I needed something else, but miracle of miracles!! Since I started two pills per night(100mg), the end of July, I've slept like a rock, and the knees don't so much as twitch!! I have had a night when I had a spell of insomnia, but the RLS didn't intrude. I don't know how long it will last, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Maybe the same drug will help someone else. The fibromyalgia has subsided some, not a whole lot.
