This works for me!

Posted by Norman on August 04, 2000 at 16:29:18:

Muscle aches in calves at night. Unable to sleep. I have been taking prescription Effexor (low dosage) once per day and Prescription Trazadone 50mg. one hour before bedtime. Trazadone helps me to sleep peacefully with no side effects. I am able to function the next day with sometimes six hours of sleep. My fault. I didn't take the Trazadone earlier when I need to leave the house a 4:30a.m. Recently my physician recommended I stop taking the Effexor during the day. I've noticed it's taking longer for the Trazadone to work (about 2 hours) and the lower dosage isn't as effective as it was. The pain kicks in while I'm waiting to fall asleep. Next week I may go back to taking Effexor in order to not increase the Trazadone to higher dosage. I have not tried taking additional vitamins or seen a specialist. I do believe RLS is anxiety and neurological related.
