I am frequently awakened (usually about 4:00 am) with spastic nerve pulses that grow in intensity until opiate medication is administered to quash it. It feels as though the nerves in specific parts of my right foot are being shocked by an insect repeller that zaps the bugs for about three seconds and then relaxes for about 10 seconds before the next spasam. The intensity increases until the medication starts working. IV administration of the dilauded will stop it instantly. The spasams began after the fouth back surgery where the nerve root was crushed between two vertebra following a disk extrusion. These spasams are more painfull that I can describe in words. I hope that no one else suffers from this as I have.
