Sue-Z,
You have so accurately described the progression of my symptoms. My mother used to always put her hand on my foot to stop the jiggling.

I am now in my mid 40's and for the last four or five years have not been able to sit through a movie without constantly changing position, can't travel in a car more than 2 or three hours without feeling very uncomfortable (no pain, just uncomfortable). I have to be very very cautious about over the counter medicines as they can really make my symptoms worse.

One night 2 months ago I took tylenol pm because I had not been sleeping well. Two hours later I was still awake doing exercies in the middle of the night. Not only did I feel the need to move my legs, ankles and feet but my back as well.

I logged on to the internet and did research. The next day I called my doctor and made an appointment. She gave me a prescription for Klonopin 0.5 mg. What a difference this has made in my life. I am falling asleep without the constant movement. I was able to travel by bus with my daughters safety patrol group for 12 hours to Washington, D.C. and also to fly to Colorado from Florida without feeling the need to move constantly.

I can't tell you how happy I am that I discussed this with my doctor, getting good sleep at night has made a major change in me.

Feel free to e-mail me if you wish.
