My mother has been diagnosed as suffering from restless legs. She does not have the need to move them, but an intense burning sensation that comes and goes, day as well as night, often spreading up her back. She is 87 and was very active until this hit, several months ago. Now she is tired out with lack of sleep and discomfort. Medication does not seem to help and the amitriptylene she was prescribed first caused awful side effects. Does anyone else have this burning sensation and if so, what has given relief? Help is needed urgently. Thank you.
