I have just been diagnosed with RLS. I have sleep apnea, and have been using a CPAP for 1.5 years, but in the last few months I have started feeling very tired again. My doctor sent me for another sleep test, and they found that the CPAP setting was correct, but I have the RLS (217 "twitches" that night, 48 of which woke me up.....).

He has prescribed Mirapex .25mg, 3 times a day. After reading the Info sheet I came directly to this forum to see what people's opinions of this medication are. Based on what I am seeing here I am not too sure this is a medication I want to be taking. I already seem to have my own pharmacy

metformin - 2000mg for insulin resistance,
synthroid - .15mg for hypothyroid,
meridia for weight loss/depression,
another medication for acid reflux,
birth control,
daily vitamin

Are there any medications out there that don't have as many side effects, yet which work? I will give the Mirapex a try, but the side effects do worry me - especially since I am already sleep deprived, and I don't need anything that will make me more tired.

Sandy
