Posted by crazy legs on September 17, 2001 at 16:22:03:I've had jumpy legs for as long as I can remember. I can't believe all of you are having the same problem. When I went on Prozac about 10 years ago, I noticed the insomnia as a side effect and severe RLS, so my doctor told me to take Trazedone at night. This worked great for me, but I built up a tolerance to it and had to keep increasing the dosage of trazedone. I felt like I was becoming addicted so I stopped the trazedone, and suffered with the RLS. Then I decided to increase my Prozac to 20 mg instead of 10 because I was haivng greater anziety. I thought it would make my RLS twice as bad. To my surprise, the RLS went away!! Makes no sense. All I can think is that the serotonin level has to be just right, not too much and not too little. 20 mg. must be right for my brain...for now. I must say though that if I eat chocolate or drink anything with caffeine, I still get RLS. My parents both have RLS. Dad is taking Mirapex. Mom doesn't like meds!
