Meningioma

Posted by RLSer on August 01, 2002 at 23:54:05:

Here's one for the books. I've had RLS and PLMD most of my life. I see a sleep specialist/neurologist and we've gotten my severe case under control with iron supplements and Ultram. For a couple of years my legs have had new and interesting symptoms. Numbness, tingling, shock sensations and fatigue to the point where I feared Multiple Sclerosis. So the sleep doctor ordered an MRI. No MS, but we found a small benign meningioma on the right cerebellum. I'm having it removed in October. (It's a very slow grower and I won't die before!) Now, I'm being told that my leg symptoms have nothing to do with the tumor on the cerebellum. How can that be, since the cerebellum controls legs and motor skills? I am really interested in seeing the results after the surgery to see if my legs lose all their symptoms. By the way, without this RLS complication, I never would have had an MRI done and who knows how large this tumor would have grown. Life is interesting......
