REQUIP dose keeps increasing

New to this forum, Ken is my name.
In March 2006, after 3 yrs of BiPap therapy, I knew I had PLM and RLS. Sleep study documented, and I was prescribed REQUIP.

Like everyone else, started at 0.25mg. Couple days later, 2 tablets. By end of week was at total of 1.0mg per night. Now, 7 months later, already up to 2.0mg tablets, 1 per night. It works, but there are some outstanding issues that concern me.

No matter the dose, I will only sleep for 4 hrs without other meds. It's frustrating that after popping the pill, I am sleepy for 3 hrs, but have to wait 3 hrs before I can sleep. That I can live with. However, in order to get 5.5 to 7 hrs of sleep, I still have to take 1.5 Tylenol PM's. I would have thought I would have grown immune to them after so long, but thank goodness they still work.

My concerns are that the increase of REQUIP doses have been regular. I have read all the dosing information, and I am actually concerned that my TOTAL DAILY dose is already higher than people that take REQUIP for Parkinsons Disease.

For the week between my last titration study and prescription I had severe hand tremors during the day. I was unable to function normally. I attibuted it to severe lack of sleep since I literally only slept about 10 hrs total in the previous 11 weeks.

For reference: I use BiPAP pressure 28/23, full face mask, cold water passover humidification since MArch 2003. With BiPAP, I still average 17 Apneas per hour.
