Posted by SeaHorse on November 08, 2006 at 07:39:29:I have had severe RLS for 20 years. It came on after a short course with an antidepressant which research says can trigger RLS. I have tried all the usual therapies with little success and lots of miserable side effects. Now I am experimenting with a new no-pill, non-invasive therapy,Neurofeedback. My EEG showed among other abnormalitis, reduced Dopamine activity in my brain--known to be associated with RLS. I am undergoing weekly treatments--biofeedback for the brain--and am experiencing some definite changes in RLS and am able to reduce my medications. I can't say yet it is a cure, since it is a very new treatment, and it takes patience and experimentation, but I have my first real hope that I will eventually be free of this misery.
