I recently went for a sleep study as prescribed my my GP. After being hooked up like a monkey ready to go into space I went to sleep. After what felt like a peaceful and good sleep I was given the results. I had 4 episodes of apnea, with my pulse ox at 90%. According to the doctor that is well within normal limits and I was not to be concerned. However, my RLS study showed dramatically different results. I had averaged over 35 leg twitches, jolts or whatever you call them per hour. This falls in the severe range. It was recommended that I see a sleep specialist and I did. He went over the result of the test and prescribed Requip, 0.25mg just before bedtime. I have done that, and my wife can finally get a good nights sleep, and I wake up feeling as if I had slept. Why I didn't do this years ago is beyond me. While I am not one to medicate unnecessarily, I find this to be one pill I will not forget to take. I hope that some of you find relief in my experience.
