Posted by longtimer_RLS on August 12, 2007 at 07:15:12:I am a 55 year old male and have suffered from severe RLS since a teenager. I was told at first that it was "growing pains". When I joined the Air Force it was called malingering. My attacks happen at all times of the day and night, usually preceeded by severe itching. The itching is surface type and can be located on any part of my body. I guess it is best described as the fuse that ignites the RLS explosion. I have been on Requip for over a year. I started at 1 mg and got immediate relief. However, I am now on 4 mg a day and still have an attack any time I am sitting or lying down. I've had about 6 hours of sleep in the last 4 days.
If anyone out there has had a similar history and found another solution, PLEASE reply and let me know.
